These are the days

I saw this title at a friend's blog the other day. And it has been a lot on my mind since then. She was referring to what days are like for her family in the stage they are in with their three daughters. So... here's my version of our days, our season in life.

Just now I came into our bedroom and found this:

See the phone?? It points to the culprit.
These are the days I have to go through our bedroom trash to make sure Maia's socks and my lotion are not in there because Maia's new game is to "pick up" and "put away" inside our trash can.

These are the says Maia only uses her "bobito" during the day but not sleep.

These are the days when it seems like it doesn't seem worth it to organize and pick up toys and clothes...because they end up out in the hall way or living room or kitchen.

These are the days when Maia leaves a clear trail of having been there.

These are teething days, when Maia gets fevers and is clingy and needy... These are the days when I am tired and get sad when I realize I am going to bed only to wake up again in 8 hours. I want to sleep and sleep.

These are those days. Oh but how thankful I am for these days!!!! I am so glad I have Maia to care for and clean up after!!! I cannot believe I get to be the one who gets to care for her and love her every day! I get to see her grow up each day a little more. These are teething days, true. But these are snuggling and cuddling days. What a treat!
And these are not just long, weary days.
These are the days when Maia loves to be chased and shrieks with joy as I run to get her; these are the days when she loves to hide and "surprise" me when she appears again.
These are days when my sweet sweet baby loves to go outside "please"; when she seats by herself in a grownup couch and is just so proud of her accomplishment.
These are the days when she really enjoys to feed me! So precious.

We cannot wait to hear her thoughts. We are so loving her personality come out more and more.
And these days? They will be gone so fast!!! They are already going by so quickly. This season is just that-a season. By necessity it will go away and give in to a new one. Those will be good and hard days in their own right. So for now, and with Jesus' help, I pray I can enjoy *these* days and live them with thanksgiving to God. Because with each new day, there are mercies anew.

Lunch

Beet soup (sopa de remolacha). Surprisingly good--1 beet, apple, avocado, water & lemon. Delish! Maia liked it too!

Maia quiere pasear

Great find!

My two "grecas" (Dominican coffee makers) broke in the past month! It's been sad to live w/o coffee!! So excited when my friend Ashley found this one at a garage sale last week! For just $1!!! I will still brew Dominican coffee in it, though! Love my Cafe Santo Domingo!!
